The Problem

Your Fleet Still Needs Primary Insurance, Even When It's Earning.

State law requires primary auto coverage on every registered vehicle, but standard carriers price your policy as if you drive daily. Your fleet vehicle spends most of its time earning on a rental platform. You're paying twice, and it's eating your margins.

How It Works

Pay Only for the Coverage You Actually Need.

Off-rental insurance covers your fleet vehicle when it's between trips. Rental platforms handle coverage during trips.

01 / Step

Your Car Earns on Eon.

Your vehicle earns through Eon and any other rental platforms you list it on. During trips, the rental platform handling that trip covers your car. On Eon, that includes liability coverage and built-in damage reimbursement.

02 / Step

Your Off-Rental Policy Covers the Rest.

When the car is parked, charging, or repositioning between rentals, your off-rental policy from our broker partner provides primary liability or full coverage. Specific coverage and limits are determined by the policy issued by the licensed insurer.

03 / Step

You Stop Overpaying.

No more paying for 24/7 personal-driving coverage on a car you don't personally drive. Coverage is right-sized to a fleet operator's real exposure.

The Savings

The Math Is Hard to Ignore.

Eon partners save up to $3,000 per vehicle per year by switching to off-rental coverage.

Common Questions

What exactly is off-rental insurance?

A primary auto policy, issued by a licensed insurer through our broker partner, that covers your vehicle when it isn't on a rental trip. The smaller insured-use window means the premium is typically much lower than a personal auto policy.

Who issues the actual insurance policy?

Coverage is issued by a licensed insurer through our broker partner. Eon is not an insurance company and does not issue, deliver, sell, or solicit insurance contracts. We refer qualifying partners to our broker, who handles underwriting, policy issuance, and claims.

Why is this an Eon-exclusive benefit?

Through our commercial relationship with the broker, Eon partners get preferential pricing not available on the open market. The rate is reserved for active Eon partners.

I'm not an Eon partner yet. Can I still apply?

Yes. Submit your info and our team will help you onboard. Most fleets go live within 24 hours, and active partners unlock the off-rental rate.

How is this different from Eon's trip coverage?

Eon's platform provides damage reimbursement and liability coverage during a trip booked through Eon. State law generally requires primary auto insurance registered to your vehicle for the time it isn't on a trip. Off-rental insurance is designed to meet that requirement.

Is the $37/month price guaranteed?

No. $37/month is the starting price for qualifying vehicles and partners. Your actual rate depends on your state, vehicles, financing situation (financed vehicles often require collision coverage), and driving history. Our broker partner walks you through your specific quote.

What if my vehicle is financed and my lender requires collision coverage?

Most lenders require collision and comprehensive coverage on financed vehicles. Our broker partner can structure your policy with the collision rider your lender needs, typically still below a comparable personal-use policy.

Can I keep my vehicles on other rental platforms?

Yes. Off-rental coverage activates whenever the vehicle isn't on a trip, regardless of platform. Keep your existing multi-platform setup; your Eon partnership unlocks the rate.

Is this available in my state?

Our broker partner operates in most U.S. states. We'll confirm availability and pricing for your location during the consultation.

What does "off-rental" mean?

Your vehicle is off-rental any time it isn't under a confirmed trip booking on a rental platform. Specific definitions and edge cases (personal use, delivery, repositioning) are in your policy documents.

How fast can I get coverage?

Most consultations happen within 24 hours of submitting your info. Coverage can typically begin within a few business days of accepting a quote.

Why shouldn’t I just use my personal auto insurance?

Because your personal auto policy almost certainly excludes the rental activity you’re running. Most personal auto policies in the U.S. contain a “public or livery conveyance” or “business use” exclusion that voids coverage the moment a vehicle is rented to a paying customer, even if the renter is covered by another insurance during the rental period.
